Lewisham Shopping and The Police Join Forces for Charity

On Friday 10th October, Lewisham Shopping continued their efforts in raising money for Demelza Hospice by hosting two icons of television which participated in the charity fundraising. Two main characters from Doctor Who was attendance: a life size dalek was used as a donation point and the police box tardis was a major focal point in the Centre.

Lewisham Shopping’s security team are now one step closer to raising their £16,000 target for the Demelza House Hospice, with some help from Lewisham Police, who participated in a 1000 mile sponsored cycle on exercise bikes. The police presented the team with a cheque for £4,000, bringing the total to approximately £11,000.

Paul Redden, Centre Manager at Lewisham Shopping Centre says “We at Lewisham are very proud of the efforts of our security team, headed by Gordon Glean. They have put a tremendous amount of work into raising this money. Demelza House is a very worthy cause and we very much appreciate Lewisham Police for their support and participation”
