Summer Sensations sizzle at Lewisham!

The first of two bespoke fashion shows was held on Saturday 20th June in Lewisham shopping’s North Square with a focus on everything to make our shoppers’ summer simply sensational at Lewisham shopping! A second and final show will be held on Monday 20th July.

Lewisham Summer Sensations staged the latest and hottest trends this summer live on the catwalk from retailers M&S, JD Sports, Fusion, BHS, Evans, New Look, and Vision Express to name but a few. Shoppers were clearly spoilt for choice and shown how to dress in the best for less this summer when stylists/presenters Jill Pollitt and Alex Bells pulled together an on-trend summer look for the whole family! This included a focus on father’s day from Blue Inc, M & S, and Next; the ‘Mini Mode’ 0 – 6 month baby range from Boots; tweenies were dressed by Mothercare, Adams Kids and BHS whilst Evans took care of ladies with a fuller figure and Krisp, Fusion, New Look and M & S showcased the playful ladies leisure range including fabulous swimwear. Presenter / stylists Jill and Alex spoke through the style selection after each show, giving shoppers first-hand information on how to make the selections work for them. Shoppers were able to look and learn from any of the five high-impact modelling shows throughout the day starting from 12pm with a final show at 4pm, every hour on the hour for 20-25 minutes. The models hair was styled by Supercuts and their make-up supplied by The Body Shop.

Casada and The Body Shop positioned themselves close to the stage forming a pamper area with massage cushions and make-up consultations on hand, making sure shoppers received tips and samples on how to get that sensational summer glow before leaving on a long-awaited summer vacation! However, for shoppers not so lucky to have a vacation booked, Lewisham shopping took the liberty to cater for their needs with a sensational Lewisham shopping gift card offer: For every Lewisham shopping gift card purchase of £30+ shoppers receive either a MEGA Days Out booklet or Two for One Hotels booklet. This empowers every gift card holder to choose their very own summer sensation break away from home with great value offers which are good for 12 months!

A second and final show will be held on Monday 20th July specifically tailored to our more price sensitive shoppers to take advantage of the summer sales on at that time.
Some sizzling feedback from retailers on the first Summer Sensation shows were generally positive: M & S store manager thought the show was very good and the general merchandise manager thought the swimwear range was showcased absolutely brilliantly. BHS store manager said: “the show is a good way to advertise which retailers are in the centre and raise awareness of them as the shopping centre is very spread out. It is also great to pull everyone around especially those who don’t normally come into your store.” New Look store manager added: “the show definitely increased our footfall and the fact that the store was located right next to the show venue helped and shows we got the plus side from the show.” Fusion store manager was extremely happy with the impact the event had on sales saying: “We’re very happy with the stylist selection and them talking through it helped us sell all the dresses which were on show. The show was very spontaneous but well executed.”
